Like paddy, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh is also procuring jowar at a rapid pace. So far, 88.75% target has been achieved and an amount of more than Rs 52 crore has been paid to the farmers. The government is supporting the farmers by increasing the MSP of jowar.

Yogi government is also standing strong with the food farmers. Like paddy, jowar is also being procured in large quantities under the direction of Yogi government. Under the leadership of Yogi government, 88.75 percent target has been achieved so far in sorghum procurement. 17,749.25 metric tons of jowar has been purchased from 3,503 farmers, whereas 5,904.55 metric tons of paddy was purchased till this period last year.

Due to the efforts of the government, it is becoming increasingly rampant. The government has so far paid more than Rs 52.13 crore to jowar farmers. Jowar procurement is going on for the year 2024-25. The target is to purchase 20 thousand metric tons this year. Relative to the target, 88.75 percent has been purchased. Till now (28 November) 17,749.25 metric tonnes of jowar has been purchased from 3,503 farmers. In lieu of this, the government has paid more than Rs 52.13 crore.

There is also a rise in millet purchase

During this period till last year (2023-24), 5,904.55 metric tonnes of jowar was purchased in 22 districts. Compared to last year, more than 11,844.7 metric tons have been procured so far this year. Millet procurement is also going on at a fast pace under the supervision of the Yogi government. So far purchases have been made from 248 purchasing centres. 42,732.65 metric tonnes of millet has been purchased from 8,031 farmers of the state. In lieu of this, more than Rs 103 crore 90 lakh has been paid to millet farmers.

Millet procurement is also continuing. Along with promoting the grain, the government has also increased its minimum support price. The minimum support price of jowar Maldandi has been fixed at Rs 3,421, jowar (hybrid) at Rs 3,371 and millet at Rs 2,625 per quintal. Badaun, Bulandshahr, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Rampur, Sambhal, Amroha, Aligarh, Kasganj, Etah, Hathras, Agra, Mathura, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Hardoi, Unnao, Kanpur Nagar-Dehat, Etawah, Auraiya, Kannauj, Farrukhabad, Ghazipur, Ballia. , Mirzapur, Jalaun, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Millet is being procured in Kaushambi, Jaunpur, Fatehpur. At the same time, jowar is being procured in Banda, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Kanpur Nagar-Dehat, Fatehpur, Unnao, Hardoi, Mirzapur and Jalaun.
